What is the Tech Toc?

The Finis Tech Toc is a friendly, introductory product to hip training. It can be used by any age group for any swim distance. Use it for all or just a portion of your workout. It is especially valuable when you are tired, since it ensures successful hip rotation at the point when you're most likely to suffer a degradation in performance.

The Tech Toc is the only device that allows swimmers to gauge the position of their hips with relation to their hand and body position using sound and feel. The Tech Toc utilizes a ball bearing inside of a plastic capsule containing acoustical amplifiers at each end. The device allows swimmers to hear, as well as feel the rhythm and pace of their stroke pattern and technique. It is a "swimmer's metronome" that synchronizes the entire range of body movements that make up a complete stroke.

As the ball hits the acoustical amplifier at each end of the capsule, it provides the swimmer audible feedback on their hip rotation and movement. Additionally, the coach can see a visual reference and hear an audible noise to monitor the hip rotation in relation to the hand and body position.

Finis Swim Mirrors provide instant feedback to help improve all four strokes. Swim Mirrors are easily placed on the bottom of the pool and may be removed when practice is complete. Each is designed to be placed end-to-end or in section, allowing swimmers to see themselves as they swim. Where to Mount the Finis Lap Track

Level Deck

There are four ways to mount this device. At its most basic, if you swim in a pool in which the water level is level with the deck, you simply place the Lap Track on top of the deck face up and reach your hand out of the water to tap the Lap Track.

Standard Pool - Tiled

In a “standard pool” where the water level does not reach deck level, Finis recommends that you mount the Lap Track above water level, using the suction cups provided. In tile pools where the water level is close to deck level, you simply mount the Lap Track on the tiles on the pool wall, again using the suction cups provided.

Standard Pool - Non-Tiled

Lastly, on non-tiled pools, you can fill the carrying bag with water to make it a weight, and attach the Lap Track to the extenders – its base sits underneath the water-weighted bag to stabilize it in the water since the Lap Track has a tendency to float up to the surface.

The Finis Lap Track is a personal underwater clock that counts the number of laps you swim, records the time it took to complete each lap, your total time and an estimate of the amount of calories burned. Simply press the Lap Track to start and again each time you complete a lap and the Lap Track will do the rest. Each time the Lap Track is pressed, your split time will be displayed for 5 seconds so you can check your times as you swim. The entire Lap Track is a button, so you won't need to worry about slowing down to press any small buttons.

The Lap Track allows a swimmer to keep track of laps, split times and calories burnt all while continuously swimming.
